FMCG marketing is how brands of everyday products communicate in a way that builds recognition and gives shoppers a reason to pick the product at the shelf or in an online store. We run it for manufacturers of food, beverages, household care products and drugstore cosmetics: from strategy and key visuals, through 360° campaigns and TikTok content, to influencer marketing and AI-assisted creative.
In FMCG, the choice comes down to seconds in a store aisle or mid-scroll. We’re a creative agency based in Wrocław and Warsaw. We gave a sausage a personality in a campaign built on AI visuals and sent tubes of cream flying over Warsaw in CGI ads. There are no boring products, only boring ideas.

MARKET & CHALLENGES

What you’re up against in FMCG

On the shelf, your product sits next to brands from multinationals and local manufacturers, plus retailers’ private labels. Discount stores, supermarkets and drugstore chains largely decide what makes it onto the shelves and at what price. Shoppers buy out of habit, often with the store’s promotional flyer in mind. They also discover new products on social media and through creators, but they buy them in stores.

Private labels

A cheaper alternative sits right next to your product, often in similar packaging. Without a clear reason to pay more, shoppers reach for the store brand.

Loyal customers

A brand that’s been around for years has loyal customers. New ones don’t know its story.

A short launch window

A new product has little time to prove it moves off the shelf. If shoppers don’t notice it, the retailer makes room for another one.

A boring category

In cold cuts, dairy or household care, ads all look alike. If you talk about quality and tradition like everyone else, it’s hard to be remembered.

Dozens of formats

One campaign means many versions: 9:16 videos, 1:1 posts, 16:9 spots and banners. In every one, the product has to keep the same color, shape and label.

Trends fade fast

A post about a trend waits weeks for approval, and by then the conversation on TikTok is over. The brand shows up too late.
WHAT’S DIFFERENT

How FMCG marketing differs

Five ways it differs from marketing in other industries:
01
Reach over loyalty.
Brands grow by reaching many buyers, not just the most loyal ones (Byron Sharp, “How Brands Grow”).
02
Instant recognition.
Color, pack shape, a brand character and a slogan have to work before the shopper reads the label.
03
Short- and long-term effects.
Promotions give sales a short-term spike, but it’s the brand that builds lasting growth. That’s what Binet and Field’s analyses for the IPA show.
04
Shelf and e-commerce.
A consumer campaign has to work together with store flyers, in-store displays and product pages in online stores.
05
Substantiated claims.
EU rules govern claims about ingredients and health, so every word on the pack and in the ad has to be backed up.
That’s why we combine brand building and sales activation, on the shelf and online, in a single campaign.
COMPLIANCE

How we work in FMCG advertising

We do
use nutrition and health claims authorized in the EU
show ingredients, origin and directions for use consistent with the label
compare the product with competitors objectively, on verifiable features
run contests with official rules and promotional lotteries with a permit
work with creators when the ad is clearly labeled
We avoid
claims that food treats or prevents disease
“sugar-free” or “light” claims that don’t meet EU conditions
medicinal claims for cosmetics and effects not backed by testing
vague “eco-friendly” and “climate-neutral” claims
This list follows Regulations (EC) 1924/2006, (EU) 1169/2011 and (EC) 1223/2009, the Polish Gambling Act and the Polish Act on Counteracting Unfair Market Practices, among others. This is not legal advice.

FMCG marketing in practice

Case study · Meat brand

JBB Bałdyga

Sausage as a companion to small everyday rituals
JBB Bałdyga wanted to reach younger consumers. In the “Zawsze z Tobą” (“Always with you”) campaign, we swapped stories of tradition for humor and everyday moments. AI visuals build a slightly surreal world inspired by pop culture and painting. TikTok videos and animations play on trends and memes.
Challenge
The content had to grab attention in the first few seconds and look like a natural part of the feed, not an ad, without losing the product message.

FAQ

Common questions about FMCG marketing

What is FMCG marketing?
FMCG marketing is the promotion of fast-moving consumer goods such as food, beverages, household care products and drugstore cosmetics. It relies on broad reach, distinctive brand assets and a combination of brand campaigns with sales activation in physical and online stores. The goal is for customers to recognize the brand instantly and keep reaching for it on future shopping trips.
How do you bring a new food product to market?
First, define who the product is for and which need it meets better than the competition, and make sure the packaging and key visual make it stand out on the shelf. For the launch, combine a reach campaign in video and social media with creator partnerships and in-store activations at retail chains. After the first wave, check how quickly it sells in stores and what shoppers say, then adjust the message and budget for the next one.
How do you make a traditional brand sound younger?
Keep what the brand is known for and change the way it talks about itself. Instead of tradition and quality alone, show the product in younger customers’ everyday moments, with humor and in the formats they watch, for example on TikTok. That’s what we did in the “Zawsze z Tobą” (“Always with you”) campaign for JBB Bałdyga: original visuals created with AI gave the sausage a personality, and the short videos looked like part of the feed.
Does TikTok work for FMCG marketing?
Yes, especially when a brand wants to reach a new group of customers and show the product in an everyday context. Short formats built on trends and humor that don’t look like traditional ads work well, and so do creator partnerships. In the campaign for Bandi’s Juicy Power line, we combined CGI ads with creators and TikTok Ads. It’s worth backing TikTok with other channels so that reach turns into sales.
What claims can you use in food advertising?
Nutrition claims (such as “source of protein”) and health claims are governed by Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006. You can only use claims authorized in the EU, and you have to meet their conditions of use: a product can be called a “source of protein” only if at least 12% of its energy value comes from protein. Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 also prohibits claiming that food prevents or treats disease. Before publication, we check every claim against the product specification and run it by your quality assurance team.
How much does an FMCG campaign cost?
The cost depends on the campaign’s reach, the number of channels and formats, video production and the media budget. We price strategy and creative, production, creator fees and media separately, and you can scale the media budget up or down based on the results of the first wave. We prepare a quote after a brief in which we agree on the campaign goal, category, channels and expected scale, and then we show you what goes into each line item.
