THE BASICS

What is a marketing strategy

A marketing strategy is a plan that sets out your marketing goals, target audiences, key messages, channels and how you’ll measure results. The communication strategy is its core: it defines what the brand says to its audience and how, to build awareness and drive sales. It’s not a collection of ideas but a consistent system of decisions.
A complete strategy covers marketing goals tied to business goals, target audiences and personas, key messages and the brand’s communication strategy, channel and format selection (organic and paid), and an activity calendar with KPIs.

Marketing strategy in practice

Case study · Meat brand

JBB Bałdyga

Sausage as a companion to small everyday rituals
JBB Bałdyga wanted to reach younger consumers. In the “Zawsze z Tobą” (“Always with you”) campaign, we swapped stories of tradition for humor and everyday moments. AI visuals build a slightly surreal world inspired by pop culture and painting. TikTok videos and animations play on trends and memes.
Challenge
The content had to grab attention in the first few seconds and look like a natural part of the feed, not an ad, without losing the product message.

FAQ

Common questions about marketing strategy

What is a marketing strategy?
A marketing strategy is a plan that sets out your marketing goals, target audiences, key messages, channels and how you’ll measure results. It answers what you communicate, where and why, to build awareness and drive sales.
What is a communication strategy?
A communication strategy is the core of a marketing strategy. It defines what the brand says to its audience and how. It sets the key messages, tone and channels so the brand speaks with one consistent voice at every touchpoint.
What types of marketing strategy are there?
In practice, there are several types, including communication strategy, content strategy, sales-focused performance strategy and community-building strategy. We usually combine them into one plan matched to the company’s goal and stage.
How do you write a marketing strategy?
We start with business goals and data. Then we analyze the market and target audiences, set the messages and communication strategy, choose channels and formats, and tie it all together with a calendar, budget and KPIs.
What does the process of creating a marketing strategy include?
The process covers an analysis of your current activities and the market, goals and KPIs, target audiences and personas, key messages, channel and format selection, a communication calendar, budget recommendations and how results will be measured.
How much does a marketing strategy cost?
The cost depends on the scope. A communication strategy on its own is a smaller project than a full marketing strategy with a calendar, budget and KPIs. We prepare every quote individually after we talk through your goals.
Do you build marketing strategies for companies in Wrocław and Warsaw?
Yes. 25wat works mainly out of Wrocław and Warsaw, so we can run workshops and consultations in person. We build strategies for clients across Poland, including fully remotely.
